About the role:

An opportunity has arisen whereby we are looking for a SERVICE SUPERVISOR to join our team in the Haynes Group Mackay on a Full- Time permanent basis. Reporting to the Service Manager, the position is to support our Mechanical Workshop business to drive and deliver services that exceed customer expectations, production targets and safety practices. The purpose of this roles is to:

  • Ensure all work group activity promotes a positive safety performance and is compliant with Haynes Safety, Heath, Environment & Quality Management System and practices
  • Ensure delegation of all Heavy Earth-Moving equipment works comply with standards and regulations
  • Oversight of direct reports and relevant work group to deliver customers’ expectations and business efficiencies
  • Drive and embrace the Haynes Production system for continuous improvement
  • Contribute to budget planning and compliance of budget and operational targets to drive year on year cost improvement strategies
  • Quality & maintenance of workshop tooling to meet utilisation requirements
  • Ensure effective staffing strategies are implemented including resource planning, diversity, rostering and training & development
  • Undertakes incident investigations, implements outcomes and drives continuous improvement for safety performance and people management practices

Does this look like you?

Essential:

  • Certificate III in Engineering Mechanical/Fabrication/Electrical Trade or similar discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a maintenance management role within the service operations, mining, mining services, heavy earth moving or manufacturing industries
  • Commercial and financial understanding of Segments in Process (SIP)
  • Proven experience successfully leading, motivating and directing teams to achieve goals working within a diverse workforce
  • Extensive experience in safety and environmental management in an operating environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to develop practical, innovative solutions to enhance customer satisfaction
  • Demonstrate high level of personal commitment to safety and follow standard work practices
  • Passionate about quality of work and has a high attention to detail
  • Demonstrates initiative and has a continuous improvement mindset
  • Actively role models’ values, work ethic and operates well in a team environment

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Frontline Management or higher management qualification
  • Relevant Workplace Health & Safety qualifications
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, commerce or accounting
  • An understanding of sales and marketing strategies and plans for optimum brand exposure to ensure growth of customers base
