The Whitsunday Regional Council is situated at the heart of the Great Barrier Reef and offers a dynamic environment that is perfectly placed to live, work, play and invest.

We currently employ around 350 staff that service the areas of Airlie Beach, Proserpine, Bowen and Collinsville.

The role of Director - Customer Experience will manage a directorate of around 40 staff and manage an operating budget of $18 Million.

Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer and placed within Executive Leadership Team. The role will focus on leading Council's waste, parks and customer service function and drive ongoing development of customer service culture across the organisation.


  • Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of strategic and operational customer engagement plans, programs and initiatives to align with Council’s customer experience charter and vision for strategy.
  • Drive customer satisfaction measures, customer experience strategies, programs, initiatives and engaging issues to enable customer-centric strategies decision processes.
  • Skills & Experience

  • Must possess and maintain a current Queensland C Class motor vehicle driver’s licence.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university required, preferably in Horticulture, Master of Business Administration, Project Management, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in a customer service, horticulture or leadership role.
