An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent full time Place Officer in our Planning, Environment and Community Services directorate based in Glenden/ Nebo. The Place Officer position is responsible for development of resilient communities by identifying the needs of residents, developing and implementing relevant services, program and strategies to meet these needs. This position also provides support and advice to build the capacity of community based organisations.
The successful candidate will have experience in community development, regional development or stakeholder engagement/ management in a government setting. Experience in implementing community and regional development projects and initiatives with an understanding of the issues facing regional communities will be highly regarded. Excellent interpersonal, communication and organisational skills and high level of experience with Microsoft Officer Suite is recommended. The successful candidate will be required to work both autonomously and as a part of a team with excellent communication, negotiation techniques and influencing skills.
For this position we offer:
- Salary $63,313.88 per annum
- Nominally 72.5 hours per fortnight
- RDO’s in accordance with Council policy
- 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading pro rata
- 12% super (in accordance with policy)
